GET TO CRACOW GUIDE
![]()
Cracow has its own small airport, Balice, situated about 10 km west of the city centre.
The airport is developing dynamically and soon it will be the biggest budget airlines airport in central and eastern Europe! At the moment most international airlines fly to Cracow and there are direct flights from major cities in Europe.
We’d like to add a tip for infrequent travelers - the prices of low cost airlines tend to change, unfortunately they usually go up rather than down, so why not book your flight now?
Getting to Cracow by plane is definitely the best alternative – it’s more comfortable and less time consuming than a journey by train or bus. However, it must be mentioned that Cracow has very good international railway and bus connections.
One can get to Cracow by train relatively cheaply from many European cities. There are also numerous bus operators - should that be your choice, we can help you find a reliable and financially attractive offer.
We strongly discourage you from coming here by car.
Just to give you two reasons: first, Poland has the highest accident rate in Europe and second, driving around the city can be difficult even for us who live here...
It is often a waste of time - imagine driving in a maze of one way streets, non-parking and pedestrian zones and then hunting for a parking lot - is this what you call fun?
So, best leave your car at home. But, of course, those who can’t live without having their own set of wheels can choose from many car rental agencies. As usual, we offer our help in finding the best deals and assistance in all the formalities. You’ll be required to present a valid driving license and an acceptable credit card, and be prepared to pay a returnable deposit!
