Ojców attracts lots of tourists, who come here for its picturesque scenery and mysterious legends.
It’s also a great place for sporty activities and long walks.
The name ‘Ojców’ appears in written texts dating back to 1370. There is a kings’ fortress in Ojców, which was most probably built in the 14th century.
Unfortunately, not much of the medieval construction has survived to this day – now it is a 
picturesque ruin.
You can see parts of the defensive walls and chambers, the entrance gate and the well, now protected with iron bars.
Ojców National Park is believed to be one of the most beautiful in our country as far as the scenery goes and one of the most valuable due to its wildlife. 
When visiting the area, it’s worth going on a trip with a tour guide.
You can go on foot, by bike or by a horse-drawn carriage.
If you think that winter is the dead season, you are mistaken!
A joyous sleigh party followed by a bonfire and a night visit to the castle may become the highlight of your stay.

In the area you can have a nice meal or visit the local museums Museum of Wildlife and caves (Lokietko Cave or the Dark Cave).

A practical tip! You’re not allowed to walk off the path in the national park! If one happens to do so, he might be fined by the parks authorities.
