Now, on the very grounds of the camp, there is The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum and Memorial.
So far, it has been visited by over 25 million tourists from all over the world.

Because the museum shows the conditions and the atmosphere of the camp very realistically,
it’s not recommended to bring in children of the age of under 14 (so let us take care of your kids during your tour ).

"We visited Auchwitz, the infamous extermination camp. This is home to the famous train tracks, where each pitiful victim's fate was determined as he or she got off of the cattle trains, by a nod of the thumb to the left or the right, whether to be sent immediately to the gas chambers or try to survive for as long as possible while being starved, tortured, and worked to death. Most of the inmates did not survive more than a few months.
But the most heart-wrenching part of our visit was the displays of personal items, piled high behind glass walls as far as the eye could see. There were piles of suitcases, with individual's names and towns of the victims-they brought suitcases with them, as they actually thought they might have a future need for their personal items.
I will never get over my visit to this hell on Earth, but I am gratified I had the opportunity to pay homage to the victims."
